At the Mālama Kaʻū Foundation, we believe that education is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Our commitment to education and academic sponsorships is designed to ensure that the youth of Kaʻū have access to the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed—without having to leave their homeland. 

We proudly provide academic sponsorships and scholarships for local Kaʻū High School students. These scholarships enable students to pursue higher education or gain trade certifications while remaining in the islands. By alleviating the financial burden of post-secondary education, we help young individuals achieve their dreams and contribute positively to our community.

Our NHO board members — leaders in both business and the military — actively mentor local students. These mentors share invaluable skills, career advice, and life experiences to prepare the next generation for future leadership roles. Our mentorship programs are tailored to inspire, guide, and support the youth of Kaʻū as they navigate their educational and professional journeys.

Understanding the importance of technology in today’s world, the Mālama Kaʻū Foundation is dedicated to equipping Kaʻū High School with essential resources such as laptops, software, and STEM-related programs. Our goal is to foster a spirit of innovation among Kaʻū’s youth, encouraging them to explore new ideas and develop skills that are crucial in the modern job market.
